Why is everyone looking for investment advice, but they aren’t willing to pay for it?
I am constantly reading questions for investment advice on this site. Most of the time the people giving the answers don’t have all of the information necessary to give advice, are not qualified to give advice, and then give bad advice. Yet people are willing to take this advice and go “do it themself” and pay $6 for a trade that will eventually lose them thousands of dollars.
Why is the climate so anti – financial advisor? Obviously people want advice, that’s why Cramer is so popular and sites like this. When is it worth it to pay for financial advice? Can a financial professional add value to your investment plan?

What would be the best investment advice for my wife and I?
I have been married for two years and my wife and I have a six week old daughter. We both have steady jobs that pay a normal amount for people our age and newly wed We live in an apartment paying about 550 rent etc etc I hope you get the picture. We are pretty normal and we are (more I am) looking for good investment opportunities that aren’t really risky. Just taking the same money I already save and get a better return. We consistently put 10% of our net into savings. What are your ideas?

What are you charged for financial planning or investment advice?
Many financial services providers tout their financial advice as being for free. But we all know nobody does anything for free. Aparently there are a bewlidering number of ways in which investment advisors make their money such as trading commissions, hourly frees, trailer fees, management fees, performance fees and so on.
I would like to hold an online survey to gauge which methods most Y!Answers users come across and their views on each method or which method their prefer most.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

If a person makes a living giving investment advice, can you assume?
that the advice is bad?
Reason: If he knew anything about investing, he would not need to sell his advice. He would be rich from his investments.
